Athletic Information

Carlisle School is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards both inside the class room and on the athletic field.  The school offers a wide array of athletic options for its middle and upper school students.  Carlisle competes in the Virginia Independent Conference in male athletics and in the Blue Ridge Conference in female athletics.  For question about the athletic programs at Carlisle School please email the athletic office at dgaylor@carlisleschool.org  or call the school at (276) 632-7288 and ask for David Gaylor or extension 239.

Athletic Mission Statement 

Carlisle School strives to recognize the individuality of people and provide a positive enviornment.  We believe that athletics can help students reach their full potential by teaching them the value of good sportsmanship, the lifelong value of involvement in sports through competition, the importance of commitment to shared goals, the value of working with a team, and the importance of making decesions and living with the consequences.


Carlisle School Sportsmanship Code
We at Carlisle expect sudents, coaches and fans to exhibit good
sportsmanship at all athletic contests.  In accordance with VIC and BRC
codes of conduct, the following ideals of sportsmanship should be followed:

  1. Fans and spectators are to respect the efforts of everyone involved in any athletic contest;
  2. Fans and spectators shall not take part in any conduct that is derogatory to opponents or officials; and
  3. Students, coaches, and spectators shall treat the opposing teams, their fans, and the officials with respect at all times.
