2026 Commencement Speaker
Carlisle School is proud to announce Alex Spears, Class of 2012, as this year’s Commencement Speaker. Fourteen years after walking through the rose arches as a graduate, Alex returns to campus to address the Class of 2026. His connection to Carlisle runs deep—his sister is also a member of the Class of 2014, and his mother, Terry, served as a Lower School teacher from 2001 to 2017.
Alex Spears is the Director of Associate Consultant Programs for Bain & Company’s
New York City Office. This role is focused on helping recent college graduates succeed
in their early careers as consultants at Bain. Alex is mostly responsible for staffing
consultants to client work, supporting professional development, and longer-term career
planning either at Bain or elsewhere.
Before this role, Alex was a client-facing Senior Manager at Bain. As a Senior Manager,
he predominantly helped clients in the fast-moving consumer goods and beverages
space act on supply chain optimization and efficiency opportunities. Alex joined Bain’s Boston office in late 2016 as an Associate Consultant and is now enjoying the opportunity to ‘pay it forward.’
Alex is a Class of 2012 graduate of Carlisle; he was honored to be named valedictorian
of his class and holds an IB Diploma. During his time at Carlisle, Alex could be found
sinking putts with the Varsity Golf Team, participating in musicals with the Carlisle
School Players, or running with the Varsity Cross Country team.
After Carlisle, Alex attended the University of Virginia, where he graduated from the
McIntire School of Commerce in 2016. Alex spent most of his time at UVA singing with
the Hullabahoos, an all-male a cappella group on grounds. This group paved the way
for Alex to join Hyannis Sound, a professional a cappella group stationed on Cape Cod
in Massachusetts, during his college summers. Alex also holds a 2022 MBA from
Columbia University in New York City.
In his free time, Alex loves golf, card games, and jogging. Alex is married to Caitlin
Amatucci, and they have one son (cat) named Leo. Alex said he is thankful to Caitlin, his dad (Zane), mom (Terry), and sister (Madison) for their endless support and love.
