Community & Service
Community Service
At Carlisle, service is more than a requirement—it’s a cornerstone of our school culture. We believe that giving back to the community and supporting one another fosters compassion, leadership, and lifelong responsibility.
To help students grow into active, engaged citizens, Carlisle requires Middle and Upper School students to complete community service hours each year. These opportunities may include volunteering at local organizations, assisting with school events, or contributing to service projects. Students not only give back but also gain valuable experiences that prepare them for college, careers, and life beyond the classroom.
At Carlisle, we are proud of our students’ commitment to service and the positive impact they make both within our school and in the greater community.
SCA in the Community
Community service is at the heart of Carlisle’s Student Council Association (SCA). Each year, our student leaders raise funds through a variety of initiatives, then use those resources to support meaningful projects that make a difference in the lives of others.
Every year, the SCA organizes at least one major service project. Past efforts have included:
- Food and Can Drives to support local families in need.
- Items Collections for Nursing Homes to bring comfort and joy to residents.
- Shoe Drives, like the recent Middle School project that sent shoes to communities in need in Africa.
Through these projects, students learn the importance of leadership, teamwork, and compassion while directly impacting both our local and global communities.
Carlisle School is an independent college preparatory school empowering students to achieve their personal best by fostering a community of character, intellect, and leadership.
